Pat Donnelly Escapes from Alcatraz for the 15th Time and Gets the Hardware

We’d all love to escape from COVID 19 right now. Unfortunately, that doesn’t appear to be in the cards for a while. But hey, we can always escape from Alcatraz and that is just what Pat Donnelly did this weekend. Pat took 2nd place in his division with a swim of 59:48, a bike of 1:14:06 and a run of 1:30:47. As any Zink will tell you, this is no easy feat. This was Pat’s 15th time doing the Escape from Alcatraz race which includes a 1.5 mile swim from Alcatraz Island to the San Francisco shoreline in cold, shark infested waters with crazy currents. And those dumb sharks weren’t even vaccinated. To make things worse, you know the 49er loving sharks in the bay were just looking for any Chiefs fans to avenge their Super Bowl loss. See also, photo of Pat heading up from transition with mostly younger guys and a great post swim gesture that says it all. Nice work, Pat. It’s time to break out that 15 year old Pappy bourbon!
