Doug campbell joins the gravel craze and and then podiums at the crusher in the tushAr

Doug Campbell went over to the “dark side” and decided to try gravel racing this summer.  He did Bighorn Gravel in Gypsum Colorado on June 25 (80 miles, 10k feet of climbing) as a tune-up for Crusher in the Tushar in Utah on July 8.  No official age groups in Bighorn but Doug was the first 60+ finisher.  Crusher in the Tushar is one of the Lifetime series and billed as the toughest 70 miles on the planet.  Over 10k feet of climbing on hot, steep, sandy, rocky roads in the Tushar mountains. Doug Managed to make the podium with third in the 60+ age group. Another great mountain effort by the flatlander.
