Steve Cosentino took 6th place in his age group after flying blind on the run. Coz made his finishing kick at Mile 5, only to realize shortly thereafter that the run course was a couple of miles longer than the standard Olympic distance. Meanwhile, Jason Fitzhugh, a favorite in this race, evidently skipped the maintenance section in his Speedplay manual, suffering a technical DNF after his pedal detached from his crank, remaining stuck to his shoe.
