Future Bulls Take Junior Triathlon World by Storm
While the Raging Bulls pipeline took a major hit with Roman Cosentino announcing his retirement from triathlon at the age of 13, a number of other future Bulls stepped up to the plate to perform well this year. The JCC Youth Triathlon was held on June 22, 2014. Olivia Riley took 2nd Place in the 11 Year Old Girls Division with a time of 58.46. Mason Fleishman took 1st in the Boys 11 Year old Division with a time of 42.02. Maverick Fleishman took 1st place in the 7 Year Old division with a time of 25:29. Karoline Malfer decided to challenge the boys, taking 11th Place in the 10-11 group with a time of 20:41. Hudson Malfer took 3rd Place in the Boys 5 to 6 race with a time of 35:18. That little Son of a Bull really can fly. The Zink Boys, Jack and Henry, tried to participate but were turned away due to their age.
Not long after the JCC, the Fleishman boys headed to Des Moines for the HyVee Kids Triathlon. The Des Moines kids triathlon had a record 370 competitors. Mason finished 3rd, taking the bronze medal, out of 36 in a very competitive 11 year old boy age group. Maverick, age 7, finished 1st out of 21. Way to go Bulls Kids!
