Doug Campbell Takes Surprise Win at Copper Triangle

While spending a chunk of time this summer training in Vail and enjoying a break from the swampy KC weather, Doug Campbell raced in the historic Copper Triangle Alpine Cycling Classic event on August 6th at Copper Mountain. After completing the Vail Pass climb to an elevation of 10,662', Doug received a text message to report to the podium. He ended up taking first place in the timed climb with a time of 15:14. Now that isn't just first place in the old guy division, that is first place overall amongst over 3000 participants including the young'ns and Colorado natives. Not only that, his victory was after two other passes, Fremont Pass at 11,318' and Tennessee Pass at 10,424'.

Nice work Doug!
