Bulls Take Advantage of Great Day at KCTri
While the IMTX team was limping around and decoding Slowtwitch rumors, the rest of the Raging Bulls were busy taking care of business at the Kansas City Triathlon, a race Built by Sandy Cohen for friends of Sandy Cohen, I mean - Built by Athletes for Athletes. Sandy, Brian Weaver and their team ran yet another great race, pulling out all the stops including photography by aerial drone.
Jason Fitzhugh led the Bulls on the long course with a 9th overall, 2nd place age group finish in 2:08:41. Close behind were Mark Montalto and Jimmy Montalto with 2nd and 4th in their age groups, respectively. Mark came in at 2:12:37 and Jimmy had 2:13:29 showing that looks don't always win. John Riley had his first post-injury victory taking 1st in his age group and 27th overall with a 2:16:35. Pat Donnelly, who was fighting a bout of illness, managed to step up and win his age group with a 2:39:53. Chris Bowser was 22nd in his division going 2:42:00. Mike Somers took 14th in his division showcasing his strength with a strong cycling pace of 22.2 mph.
On the short course, Big Todd Johnson put in a strong effort, taking 7th overall and 1st in his division with a time of 1:06:09. Mark Fleischman took 6th in his age group and 39th overall with a time of 1:16:01.
